Abstract
Uvod: Prema podatcima Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije, godišnje više ljudi umire od kardiovaskularnih bolesti nego od bilo kojeg drugog uzroka, što vrijedi i za Hrvatsku. Duhanski dim ima značajnu ulogu u pokretanju kardiovaskularnih bolesti. Cilj istraživanja: Ispitati vrijednosti trombocita, kolesterola i ejekcijske frakcije kod pušača i nepušača oboljelih od akutnog infarkta miokarda obzirom na dob, spol, obiteljski status, izobrazbu, ekonomski status, duljinu pušenja cigareta kod pušača i broj popušenih cigareta dnevno kod pušača. Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 108 ispitanika. Istraživanje je provedeno pomoću anonimnog anketnog upitnika i uvida u medicinsku dokumentaciju bolesnika. Rezultati: Rezultati pokazuju da je pušača 40,7 %, bivših pušača 35,2 %, a nepušača 24,1 %. Obzirom na spol, kod muškaraca je značajno više pušača i bivših pušača u odnosu na žene kod kojih je više nepušača. Vrijednosti trombocita najniže su u skupini ispitanika koji su bivši pušači. Ukupni kolesterol niži je u skupini onih koji puše 30 i više godina. Vrijednosti LDL-a niže su u skupini ispitanika koji puše 30 i više godina. U skupini pušača, ispitanici starije dobi imaju niže vrijednosti ukupnog kolesterola, triglicerida, LDL-a i ejekcijske frakcije, a višu vrijednost HDLa. Zaključak: Tri četvrtine ispitanika oboljelih od akutnog infarkta miokarda su pušači ili bivši pušači, a 70,5 % pušača puši duže od 30 godina, što ukazuje na činjenicu da pušenje povećava rizik od nastanka akutnog infarkta miokarda. Potrebna su daljnja istraživanja na ovu temu s većim brojem ispitanika kako bi se bolje pojasnio učinak pušenja na rizik od nastanka infarkta miokarda.
Abstract (english)
Introduction: According to the World Health Organization, more people die from cardiovascular diseases every year than from any other cause. This also applies to Croatia. Tobacco smoke plays a significant role in triggering cardiovascular diseases. Objectives: To examine platelet count, cholesterol, and ejection fractions in smokers and nonsmokers with acute myocardial infarction based on age, sex, marital status, education, economic status, smoking length, and the number of cigarettes per day. Participants and methods: The study included 108 respondents. It was conducted using an anonymous questionnaire and information obtained from the patients' medical records. Results: The results showed that 40.7 % are smokers, 35.2 % are ex-smokers and 24.1 % are non-smokers. In terms of gender, there are significantly more male smokers and male exsmokers than women who have more non-smokers. Platelet counts were lowest in ex-smokers. Total cholesterol was lower in smokers of 30 years or more. LDL values were lower in the respondents who have been smoking for 30 years or more. In smokers, older subjects had lower values of total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and ejection fraction, but a higher value of HDL. Conclusion: Three-quarters of respondents with acute myocardial infarction are smokers or exsmokers and 70.5 % of smokers have been smoking for more than 30 years. This indicates that smoking increases the risk of acute myocardial infarction. Further research on this topic with a larger number of respondents is needed to better explain the effect of smoking on the risk of myocardial infarction.
