Introduction: Sudeck syndrome, or complex regional pain syndrome, is the most common complication caused by trauma or surgery. It is characterized by a severe pain, swelling, change of temperature and skin colour with limited function, and it affects the distal part of the extremities. It is classified into three stages: the stage of inflammation, dystrophy, and atrophy. Procedure: When writing the review paper, a total of 46 professional and scientific papers were examined, of which 25 were used for literature. The databases used are PubMed, Medscape, Cochrane and Hrčak. Overview: Using physiotherapy assessment, measurements and tests are performed to assess pain, range of motion and muscle strength for further plan and goal of the treatment. Physiotherapy intervention is applied to kinesiotherapy (circulation, strengthening and mobilization exercises), electrotherapy (magnetotherapy, TENS, diadynamic and galvanic current, electrostimulation, electroacupuncture) and other physical agents (cryotherapy, thermotherapy, massage, ultrasound), and procedures in addition to education, which seek to alleviate pain, increase range of motion and prevent the occurrence of contractures and muscle atrophy. Conclusion: The treatment of Sudeck's syndrome requires an extensive physiotherapy assessment with adequate application of physiotherapy interventions with the aim of better and more quality rehabilitation. Physiotherapy is essential for independence and functioning which increases quality of life and work ability.
