Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Cilj istraživanja bio je izmjeriti i međusobno usporediti CIE L*a*b* vrijednosti gornjih i donjih prednjih zuba ovisno o spolu ispitanika i unutar svake ispitivane skupine zuba te izračunati razliku u izmjerenim vrijednostima između svih ispitivanih skupina zuba međusobno. Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 30 ispitanika (11 muških; 19 ženskih; prosječne dobi od 28,4 godine). Svakom je ispitaniku spektrofotometrijski izmjerena boja u srednjoj trećini svih gornjih i donjih prednjih zuba. Zabilježene su CIE L*a*b* vrijednosti svakog mjerenja i izračunata je razlika u boji (ΔΕ). Rezultati: Razlika u CIE L*a*b* vrijednostima po spolu i unutar svake ispitivane skupine zuba nije pronađena (P>0,05). U obje je čeljusti najmanja razlika u boji (ΔΕ=1,4 – 1,7) postojala između središnjih i lateralnih sjekutića, a najveća između središnjih sjekutića i očnjaka (ΔΕ=3,7 – 4,2). Očnjaci su bili svjetliji, ali intenzivnije žute boje. Razlika između gornjih i donjih skupina zubi bila je gotovo tri puta veća od praga prihvatljivosti. Donji zubi bili su svjetliji, ali također intenzivnije žuti od gornjih. Zaključak: CIE L*a*b* vrijednosti gornjih i donjih zuba međusobno se razlikuju i to je potrebno uzeti u obzir pri svakoj estetskoj restaurativnoj ili protetskoj rekonstrukciji zuba u visoko estetskoj zoni kako bi se postigao potpuno prirodni izgled nadomještenog zuba izrađenog iz kompozitnog ili keramičkog materijala.
Abstract (english)
Objectives: The aim of the research was to measure and compare CIE L*a*b* values of upper and lower front teeth depending on the gender and within each examined group of teeth and to calculate the difference in measured values between all examined groups of teeth. Participants and Methods: Thirty subjects participated in the research (11 men and 19 women: average age 28,4 years). The color was measured spectrophotometrically for each subject in the middle third of all upper and lower front teeth. The CIE L*a*b* values of each measurement were recorded and the color difference (ΔΕ) was calculated. Results: A difference in CIE L*a*b* values by gender and within each examined group of teeth was not found (P>0,05). In both jaws, the smallest difference in color (ΔΕ=1,4 – 1,7) existed between the central and lateral incisors, while the largest difference was found between the central incisors and canines (ΔΕ=3,7 – 4,2). The canines were lighter but with a more intense yellow color. The difference between the upper and lower groups of teeth was almost three times greater than the acceptability threshold. The lower teeth were lighter but also more intensely yellow than the upper ones. Conclusion: The CIE L*a*b* values of the upper and lower teeth differ from each other and this must be taken into account during any aesthetic restorative or prosthetic reconstruction of a tooth in a highly aesthetic zone in order to achieve a completely natural appearance of a replaced tooth made of composite or ceramic material.
