Objectives: To present the established diagnoses and goals in the health care process, as well as planned and implemented interventions in the patient's pre-operative preparation and postoperative health care, all with the goal of resolving the patient's problems. Case: The following diagnoses were established in the health care process during the patient's hospitalization: noncompliance with medical instructions due to a lack of motivation as evidenced by a failure to attend regular medical check-ups, and the patient's statement "I eat chocolate between lunch and dinner." ; self care deficit: elimination (2) due to limited mobility 2° amputation of the left femur as evidence by the statement "I need help moving from the wheelchair to the toilet bowl"; self care deficit: personal hygiene (2) due to limited mobility 2° amputation of the left femur as evidenced by the statement: "When I take a shower, I can't wash my back or the foot of my right leg..." ; pain due to surgery as evidenced by the patient's statement: "It hurts..." and pain assessment on a pain scale of 0-4 with 4; disturbed body image due to negative perception of the effect of amputation and changed appearance, which is as evidenced by the statement: "I don't like how I look without one leg."; concern due to the outcome of the disease and the impact on the lifestyle as evidenced by the statement: "I worry about..."; high risk for ineffective health maintenance due to lack of knowledge about adaptations during daily activities, surgical wound care, prosthesis care, walking exercises and control examinations. After immplementation of interventions, the identified problems were solved. Conclusion: A holistic and individual approach to providing physical, psychological, and social assistance is required in the process of healthcare for patients following amputation. Patient care necessitates a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving and collaboration among team members.
