Objectives: The main aim of the study was to examine whether physiotherapeutic rehabilitation was more accessible to people in larger cities than to people in smaller towns. Study Design: cross-section research. Participants and Methods: 567 adult citizens of the Republic of Croatia participated in the study. The study was conducted through an online questionnaire in the period from March 2 to April 1, 2023. The questionnaire consisted of 21 questions. The questions are divided into several groups. The first set of questions concerned the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. The second set of questions examined the role of physiotherapy. Respondents using physiotherapy services answered the third and fourth groups of questions; the groups included questions on the distribution and quality of physiotherapeutic rehabilitation. Differences in categorical variables were tested by a chi-square test. Results: The study showed that physiotherapeutic rehabilitation is more accessible to inhabitants of larger cities, and that physiotherapeutic rehabilitation is more commonly used by older subjects. Also, highly educated subjects in health care are more aware of the role of physiotherapy than highly educated subjects outside health care. Furthermore, health care professionals/students are more aware of the role of physiotherapeutic activity than other subjects. The study did not show a link between the area of residence and the time until the beginning of rehabilitation. On the other hand, waiting for the start of rehabilitation is much less for those who have used private rehabilitation facilities than those who have used state institutions. Respondents who used both state and private rehabilitation institutions assessed private institutions to have higher quality. Conclusion: The awareness of citizens of the Republic of Croatia about physiotherapeutic activity is satisfactory, but the availability of physiotherapeutic activity is not the same for all citizens of the Republic of Croatia.
