Abstract | Cilj istraživanja: Ispitati kvalitetu života bolesnika sa suhim keratokonjunktivitisom, te ispitati simptome i njihovu povezanost s demografskim i općim varijablama.
Rezultati: Prema mjestu stanovanja postoji razlika u lošem vidu (P=0,01) i učestalosti peckanja u oku (P=0,01). Učestalost osjećaja suhoće i nadraženosti očiju povećava probleme s čitanjem (P<0,001; P<0,001), pisanjem (P<0,001; P<0,001), hodanjem (P<0,001; P<0,001), vožnjom automobilom danju (P=0,001; P<0,001) i noću (P<0,001; P<0,001), gledanjem televizije (P<0,001; P<0,001), učenjem (P<0,001; P<0,001), obavljanjem osobne higijene (P=0,001; P=0,02) i konzumacijom hrane (P=0,002; /) i radom na računalu (/; P=0,01). Veća dob ispitanika, bolji materijalni status, duljina trajanja poteškoća, učestalost osjećaja suhoće i nadraženosti oka povećavaju negativan utjecaj suhog keratokonjunktivitisa na sve aspekte života ispitanika.
Zaključak: Suhi keratokonjunktivitis narušava kvalitetu života, posebno u bolesnika bez postavljene dijagnoze, što pokazuje potrebu za poboljšanjem dijagnostičke obrade i liječenjem simptoma suhog oka. |
Abstract (english) | Research objective: To examine the quality of life of patients with dry keratoconjunctivitis, and to examine symptoms and their relationship with demographic and general variables.
Study design: Cross-sectional study.
Subjects and methods: 89 subjects participated who signed an informed consent to participate. The research is anonymous, approved by the Ethics Council of OB Virovitica. The questionnaire was created for the purpose of this research.
Results: According to the place of residence, there is a difference in poor vision (P=0.01) and the frequency of burning in the eye (P=0.01). The increase in difficulties is related to the older age of the subjects, more frequent dryness and irritation of the eye. Eye dryness and irritation are associated with eye-related difficulties in certain situations. Respondents without a diagnosis, with a higher age, with a higher level of education, a better financial status and a longer duration of difficulty have a greater problem with driving a car during the day and at night, while a greater age is associated with less difficulty with driving a car during the day and working on a computer. The frequency of feeling dry and irritated eyes increases problems with reading (P<0.001; P<0.001), writing (P<0.001; P<0.001), walking (P<0.001; P<0.001), driving a car during the day (P=0.001; P<0.001) and at night (P<0.001; P<0.001), watching television (P<0.001; P<0.001), studying (P<0.001; P<0.001), performing personal hygiene (P=0.001; P=0 .02) and food consumption (P=0.002; /) and computer work (/; P=0.01). Older age of the subject, better financial status, duration of difficulty, frequency of feeling of dryness and irritation of the eye increase the negative impact of dry keratoconjunctivitis on all aspects of the life of the subject.
Conclusion: Dry keratoconjunctivitis impairs the quality of life, especially in undiagnosed patients, which shows the need to improve diagnostic processing and treatment of dry eye symptoms. |
