Abstract
CILJ : Prikazati vaţnost multidisciplinarnog pristupa u liječenju sindroma pekućih usta. PRIKAZ TEME: Sindrom pekućih usta kronično je stanje, očituje se skupom simptoma, a obilježeno je osjećajem pečenja usne šupljine bez postojanja klinički vidljivog patološkog nalaza. Kod pacijenata osjećaj pečenja dolazi ničim izazvan. Najveća je učestalost nastajanja sindroma pekućih usta u žena za vrijeme menopauze, a također je visoka prevalencija anksioznosti i depresije u oboljelih. Prosječno simptomi traju 3 – 4 godine, a kako bi se zadovoljio dijagnostički kriterij, simptomi pečenja moraju trajati 4 – 6 mjeseci. Dijagnoza sindroma pekućih usta temelji se na detaljnom kliničkom pregledu i pregledu anamneze bolesti. SPU se dijeli na tri podskupine ovisno o intenzitetu. ZAKLJUČAK: Za sindrom pekućih usta nema konačnog lijeka, bitno je prema svakom pacijentu imati pojedinačan pristup. Važno je pacijentima objasniti kako nije riječ o teškoj bolesti i da je liječenje sindroma pekućih usta dugotrajno i različito za svakog pojedinca. Također, i terapija je posebna za svakog pojedinca pa je potrebno ispitati koji lijekovi daju najbolje rezultate u liječenju pojedinca.
Abstract (english)
AIM: To demonstrate the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of burning mouth syndrome. REVIEW: Burning mouth syndrome is a chronic condition and it is manifested by symptoms of burning feeling of burning in the oral cavity without the existence of a clinically visible pathologic findings. For patients, the sensation of burning comes without anything causing it. The highest incidence of burning mouth syndrome is in women during menopause, with a high prevalence of anxiety and depression in patients. Average symptoms last 3-4 years, and in order to meet the diagnostic criteria, symptoms must last atleast 4-6 months. The diagnosis of burning mouth syndrome goes hand in hand with a detailed clinical examination and medical history. BMS is divided into 3 subgroups depending on the intensity. CONCLUSION: There is no definitive cure for the burning mouth syndrome, it is necesary to have an individual approach for every patient. It is important to explain to patients that it is not a serious illness. The treatment for burning mouth syndrome is time-consuming and different for each individual. Also, therapy is special for all individuals and tests are needed to determine which medicine gives the best results and treatment for the patient.
