Objective: To examine the motivation of nursing students for working in palliative care and the knowledge of nursing students about palliative care. Study Design: Cross-sectional research Participants and Methods: The participants consisted exclusively of nursing students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health in Osijek who agreed to complete a questionnaire composed of three parts: demographic section, a section assessing knowledge, and a section evaluating the participants' motivation for working in palliative care. Results: The motivation for working in palliative care among nursing students indicates that no participant responded that they do not want to work in palliative care. The reasons given for not wanting to work there include the fact that such a work environment is associated with sadness and death, as indicated by 48.6% of the participants. The analysis did not reveal a statistically significant difference in responses based on demographic variables. Participants' knowledge of palliative care is high, with a statistically significant difference only based on the year of study. Specifically, participants in the second year of their undergraduate studies answered most questions related to their knowledge of palliative care correctly, in one hundred percent of cases. Conclusion: The participants' knowledge of palliative care is high, with a statistically significant difference based only on the year of study.
