Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Ispitati kvalitetu života djece oboljele od crijevnih bolesti u odnosu na dob, spol, mjesto stanovanja, pohađanje škole i obitelj (braća i sestre). Nacrt studije: Presječna studija. Ispitanici i metode: Istraživanje je provedeno na Klinici za pedijatriju KBC-a Osijek. U istraživanju su sudjelovali pedijatrijski bolesnici. Uključujući kriteriji su bili: dob od 10 do 17 godina, pacijenti kojima je dijagnoza upalne bolesti crijeva postavljena prije više od 6 mjeseci te potpisan informirani pristanak roditelja. Korišten je IMPACT-III upitnik. Rezultati: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo devetnaestero djece s upalnim bolestima crijeva od kojih deset djevojčica i devetorica dječaka. Značajno bolju kvalitetu života procjenjuju djeca ženskoga spola u odnosu na djecu muškoga spola (P = 0,009). Istraživanje nije pokazalo razliku u emocionalnom funkcioniranju prema demografskim varijablama. Djeca ženskoga spola su isto tako procijenila značajno veće blagostanje (P = 0,02), bolje socijalno funkcioniranje (P = 0,04) te bolju sliku o sebi (P = 0,04) za razliku od djece muškoga spola. Dob i broj braće i sestara nisu povezani s ukupnim rezultatom i ispitivanim podljestvicama upitnika. Zaključak: Uočena je značajno bolja kvaliteta života djece ženskoga spola. Nužno je provođenje daljnjih istraživanja s ciljem otkrivanja što većeg broja čimbenika koji utječu na život djece oboljele od kroničnih upalnih bolesti crijeva.
Abstract (english)
Aim of the Study: To examine the quality of life in children with inflammatory bowel diseases with regard to age, gender, place of residence, school attendance, and family-siblings. Study design: Cross-sectional study. Participants and Methods: The research was conducted at the Clinics for Pediatrics of KBC Osijek. Pediatric patients participated in the study. Inclusion criteria were: age from 10 to 17, patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease more than 6 months ago, and signed informed consent of parents. The IMPACT-III questionnaire was used. Results: Female children rate significantly better quality of life compared to male children. The research showed no difference in emotional functioning according to demographic variables. The research showed that female children assessed a better quality of life compared to male children. Female children also assessed significantly higher wellbeing, better social functioning, and better self-image. Age and the number of siblings is not related to the total score and the investigated subscales of the questionnaire. Conclusion: A significantly better quality of life was observed in female children. It is necessary to carry out further research with the aim of discovering as many factors as possible that affect the lives of the child suffering from chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.
