Abstract | CILJ ISTRAŽIVANJA: Ispitati oralno-higijenske navike i znanje studenata Sestrinstva o oralnom zdravlju.
USTROJ STUDIJE: Provedeno je presječno istraživanje.
METODE: Ispitanici su bili studenti Diplomskog sveučilišnog studija Sestrinstva, Fakulteta za dentalnu medicinu i zdravstvo Osijek, dislociranog u Svetoj Nedelji, koji su dobrovoljno pristali sudjelovati u istraživanju. Podatci su prikupljani Upitnikom o oralno-higijenskim navikama i znanju studenata sestrinstva o oralnom zdravlju, izrađenim za potrebe ovog rada.
REZULTATI: Ispitanici su iskazali dobre oralno-higijenske navike: 63,64 % provodilo je higijenu zubi četkicom za zube i zubnom pastom jednom dnevno, 72,73 % koristilo je zubni konac, 69,09 % interdentalne četkice, 56,36 % vodicu za zube, 57,27 % procjenjivalo je zubnu pastu s fluorom korisnijom, 49,18 % ih je mijenjalo zubnu četkicu češće nego svaka tri mjeseca, 60,91 % pralo je jezik i 66,36 % ispitanika posjećivalo je stomatologa najmanje jednom u šest mjeseci. Većina ispitanika iskazala je dobro ukupno znanje o oralnom zdravlju (70 %): dobro opće znanje (54,54 %); dobro znanje o karijesu (55,45 %); dobro znanje o gingivitisu (80 %) i dobro znanje o parodontitisu (70 %). Više je bilo ženskih ispitanica, starih 30 i manje godina, zaposlenih, na drugoj godini studija te s prosječnim materijalnim stanjem u obitelji. Određene oralno-higijenske navike bile su povezane s određenim demografskim karakteristikama ispitanika, a lošije znanje s iznadprosječnim materijalnim stanjem u obitelji. ZAKLJUČAK: Kao budući promotori preventive oralnih bolesti, od iznimne je važnosti da medicinske sestre i tehničari poboljšaju oralno-higijenske navike i znanje o oralnom zdravlju. |
Abstract (english) | AIMS: To examine the oral hygiene habits and knowledge of Nursing students about oral health.
TYPE OF STUDY: A cross-sectional survey was conducted.
METHODS ISSUED: The respondents were students of the Graduate University Study of Nursing, Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek, located in Sveta Nedelja, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the research. The data were collected by a Questionnaire on oral hygiene habits and oral health knowledge of nursing students, created for the purposes of this work.
RESULTS: The respondents showed good oral hygiene habits: 63,64 % carried out dental hygiene with a toothbrush and toothpaste once a day, 72,73 % used dental floss, 69,09 % interdental brushes, 56,36 % toothpaste, 57,27 % rated toothpaste with fluoride as more useful, 49,18 % changed their toothbrush more often than every three months, 60,91 % washed their tongue and 66,36 % visited the dentist at least once every six months. The majority of respondents expressed good overall knowledge about oral health (70 %): good general knowledge (54,54 %); good knowledge about caries (55,45 %); good knowledge about gingivitis (80 %) and good knowledge about periodontitis (70 %). There were more female interviewees, aged 30 and under, employed, in the second year of studies and with an average financial situation in the family. Certain oral hygiene habits were associated with certain demographic characteristics of the respondents, and poorer knowledge with above-average financial conditions in the family.
CONCLUSION: It is of great importance for nurses and technicians, as future promoters of oral disease prevention, to improve their oral hygiene habits and knowledge about oral health. |
