Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Ispitati mišljenje opće populacije o eutanaziji. Nacrt studije: Presječno istraživanje. Ispitanici i metode: U istraživanju su sudjelovali opći ispitanici. Dobrovoljno je sudjelovalo 100 ispitanika, od čega je bilo 73 osoba ženskog, a 27 osoba muškog spola, a dob ispitanika bila je rasprostranjena od 18 do 76 godina. Pri istraživanju korišten je papirnati upitnik u vlasništvu prof.dr.sc. Ane Borovečki, dr.med. za koji je tražena i dobivena dozvola za korištenje. Za većinu anketnih pitanja od ispitanika se tražilo da brojem od 1 do 5 izrazi svoje slaganje s ispitnom tvrdnjom, što je vrednovano prema Likertovoj skali od 1 do 5. Rezultati: Postoji statistički značajan utjecaj stupnja obrazovanja na mišljenje o smislu života. Postoji statistički značajan utjecaj spola na mišljenje o medicinski potpomognutoj smrti. Ne postoji statistički značajan utjecaj dobi na mišljenje o prestanku i produljenju života umiruće osobe. Zaključak: Sedamdeset dva posto ispitanika složilo se, ili u potpunosti složilo s tvrdnjom da umirući bolesnik sam ima pravo odlučiti o kraju svojega života, a s druge strane šezdeset šest posto ispitanika ne smatra da bi liječnicima trebalo biti zakonom dopušteno pomoći pacijentu koji boluje od neizlječive bolesti i živi u teškim bolovima da okonča vlastiti život, ako sam pacijent to zatraži.
Abstract (english)
Research aim: To examine the opinion of the general population on euthanasia. Study design: Cross-sectional research. Subjects and methods: General respondents took part in the research. 100 respondents volunteered, of which 73 were female and 27 male, and age ranged from 18 to 76 years. A paper questionnaire owned by Prof. Ana Borovečki, PhD was used in the research for which a license for use was sought and obtained. For most of the survey questions, respondents were asked to express their agreement with the test claim by number 1 to 5, which was evaluated according to the Likert scale 1 to 5. Results: There is a statistically significant impact of education on the opinion about the meaning of life. There is a statistically significant impact of gender on the opinion about physician-assisted suicide. There is no statistically significant impact of age on the opinion about the termination and extension of a dying person's life. Conclusion: Seventy-two percent of respondents agreed, or fully agreed, that a dying patient alone has the right to decide on the end of their life, on the other hand, sixty-six percent of respondents do not think that doctors should be allowed by law to help a patient who suffers from incurable illness and lives in severe pain to end their own life if the patient so requests.
