The aim of the study: to study the incidence of cervical spine pain in students of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek. Draft of the study: Average survey between 17 and 27 February 2021 Subjects and methodology: The sample consisted out of 298 participating students. Data were collected by using an anonymous questionnaire that included 25 questions about the subjects' general characteristics, mobile device use, and the occurrence of cervical spine pain. Results: The analysis of the collected data showed that 70.7% of younger students had reported pain issues. Among female participants, the significant number reported the pain within the neck and shoulder area. The mean scores of pain frequency indicate that the pain is present 2 hours per day and 2 days per week. In the older student population (> 30 years), neck and shoulder pain are more frequent and intense than in the younger student population (≤30 years). By observing the younger student population, the given results indicate that increased mobile device use in hours over the week corresponds to more frequent occurrence of the neck and shoulder pain. A statistically significant difference was detected by processing the data on analgesic use. Thus, physiotherapy students were more likely to use alternative forms of analgesia (heating the painful area, cooling the painful area, massaging the painful area, rest, or relaxation techniques) relative to students in other majors. Nursing students are more likely to use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs relative to students in other disciplines. Conclusion: Most students in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health Osijek feel pain in the cervical spine.
