Abstract | CILJ ISTRAŽIVANJA: Ispitati percepciju medicinskih sestara zaposlenih u jedinicama
intenzivnog liječenja o kvaliteti pružanja zdravstvene njege prije i za vrijeme pandemije
COVID-19.
USTROJ STUDIJE: Provedeno je presječno istraživanje.
ISPITANICI I METODE: Ispitanici su medicinske sestre/tehničari zaposleni u jedinici
jedinicama intenzivnog liječenja, kada ze to bude potrebe. |
Abstract (english) | OBJECTIVES: To examine the perception of nurses working in intensive care units about
the quality of healthcare provision before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
STUDY STRUCURE: A cross-sectional study was conducted.
RESPONDENTS AND METHODS: The subjects were nurses/technicians employed in the
intensive care unit of the Bjelovar General Hospital. The sample consisted of 57 respondents
who voluntarily agreed to participate in the research. Participation in the research was
anonymous and was conducted through April 2022.
RESULTS: Data for the gender of the respondents show that 77.2% of the respondents are
female, while 22.8% of the respondents are male. As for the age of the respondents, it can be
seen that 49.1% are 18-29 years of age, 24.6% are 30-39, 24.6% are 40-49, while 1.8% are 60
years of age and older. 52.7% have 5-10 years of service, 29.1% have 11-20, 16.4% are 21-30,
while 1.8% have 40 or more years of service. A statistically significant difference was found
in the perception of health care provision in intensive care units before and during the
COVID-19 pandemic, where the value of the Chi square test was p<0.05.
CONCLUSION: The results of this research confirm that the COVID-19 pandemic has
affected all aspects of healthcare provision in intensive care units. Based on the results
obtained, we can say that nurses are overloaded with the workload due to the pandemic, and
there is room for further research in order to ensure, through better organization and
systematic education, the knowledge of all healthcare workers to work in intensive care units,
when the need arises. |
