The aim of the research: To examine the knowledge of nursing students about hemophilia, differences in knowledge in relation to demographic characteristics, knowledge of people with hemophilia, and to examine the connection between knowledge and the age of the respondents. Study design: Cross-sectional study. Respondents and methods: The research is anonymous, conducted by online distribution of a questionnaire that was voluntarily filled out by 106 nursing students. The research conducted in May 2023. It took five minutes to fill out the questionnaire. Results: Women are more likely to believe that the treatment of hemophilia consists in compensating for the missing factor episodically or preventively through infusions (P=0.04). Respondents in the third year of study are more likely to believe that adherence to the schedule of prophylactic treatment is key in reducing the frequency of joint bleeding and improving the quality of life (P=0.01), that hemophilia requires the cooperation of a multidisciplinary team at a higher level (P=0.01), that knowledge and experience are key components in providing quality patient education (P=0.05) and that it is important to have a professional, confidential and empathetic relationship with the patient and family (P=0.008). Respondents who have a non-medical high school education are more likely to believe that knowledge and experience are key components in providing quality education for the independent application of therapy in the patient's home (P=0.04). Increasing age decreases the agreement that repeated episodes of bleeding, if not treated immediately, can cause long-term problems with the musculoskeletal system, joint damage, and painful bleeding in internal soft tissues (P=0.02). Conclusion: Students show relatively good knowledge about hemophilia, but there are significant differences in knowledge, which indicates the need for additional education of nursing students.
