Objectives: The main goal of this research was to examine the knowledge of nurses/technicians in primary health care about palliative care and whether there is a connection between sociodemographic variables and the knowledge of nurses/technicians about palliative care. Study design: Cross - sectional study Participants and methods: The research was conducted during the months of March and May 2024. It was conducted through an anonymous online form created in Google Forms. 81 respondents between the ages of 20 and 50 and older participated in the research. A questionnaire on sociodemographic data and a validated Palliative Care Quiz for Nurses (PCQN) were used for the research. Results: Out of 81 respondents who participated in the research 92.5% were women and 7.5 % were men. In the obtained research sample, 58.2 % of respondents graduated high school and 67.5 % of respondents have work experience in primary health care. The categorized results of the PCQN scale show insufficient knowledge of nurses/technicians, namely 76.5 %, and only 22.2 % that nurses possess sufficient knowledge. On none of the three PCQN subscales, the median percentage of correct answers was higher than 50 %, and the highest number of correct answers was in the subject area of pain control and other symptoms (median 42). There was no statistically significant correlation between the number of correct answers to all parts of the PCQN with age, gender, education, length of employment, or the type of institution where the respondents have been employed for the longest period of time. Conclusion: Based on the conducted research, data indicate an insufficient level of basic knowledge about palliative care among nurses/technicians, and the need for additional education in the field of philosophy and principles of palliative care and psychosocial and spiritual care. The results also show that there is no statistically significant correlation between the number of correct answers to all PCQN items with age, gender, education, length of employment, or the type of institution where the respondents have been employed for the longest period of time.
