Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the change in hearing given the five-year exposure to workplace noise. Subjects and methods: The study was conducted on 148 participants. They were workers employed in six different occupations where they were exposed to noise, and their medical examinations were performed at Occupational Health Department at Nasice Health Center. The instrument was a data collection form (Contribution 1.) that compiled socio-demographic characteristics (profession, age, sex) and a five-level hearing quality scale. In order to obtain such information, I used an insight into the audiogram chart from the first and last examination performed, with a special examination of the right, especially the left ear. The differences between the observed groups were tested by analysis of variance. Results: There is no difference in hearing impairment with respect to sex, we can say that the impairments are symmetrical. However, there is a difference in hearing impairment by profession, I believe this is due to different working conditions depending on the profession. The greatest changes in the quality of hearing in the left ear were observed in the masons, while in the right ear the greatest progression occurred in the finishing workers. Deafness was noted in the left ear, which progressed with age with no exposure in the right ear. An increase in moderate and mild impairment was observed in the left ear and a decrease in normal hearing. There was no deafness in the right ear, an increase in severe damage with respect to the left ear. Conclusion: Changes in hearing were identified with considering to five years of noise exposure.
