The objective of this master's thesis was to investigate the impact of hyperemesis gravidarum on the psychological health of pregnant women during pregnancy and the intensity of psychological problems. 103 pregnant women who voluntarily agreed to fill out the questionnaire participated in the research. The research was conducted using an online questionnaire created for the purpose of this thesis, which contained sociodemographic questions about pregnancy hyperemesis and the impact on the psychological health of pregnant women. The results of the research showed that the majority of pregnant women had their first nausea and vomiting already in the 1st trimester (96.1%), of which the majority (52.4%) vomited more than 20 times during the day. In 68.9% of the subjects, the symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum were severe. In 96.1% of the respondents, the complaints affected their mental health, most often in the form of mental exhaustion. The research showed a connection between the onset of complaints and their intensity, i.e. the earlier the complaints appeared, the greater their intensity. Conclusion: The research showed that there is a positive connection between hyperemesis gravidarum and the occurrence of psychological problems during pregnancy. It is important to distinguish psychological changes related to pregnancy from psychiatric illnesses. Therapy is symptomatic, with fluid replacement, correction of disturbed electrolyte balance, glucose as a source of energy, sedatives, antiemetics. Psychophysical preparation of a pregnant woman, i.e. education about physical changes during pregnancy and the benefits of exercise to a nutritional diet plan, which includes a proper schedule of meals and quality nutrition, would contribute to psychophysical balance and the reduction of possible pathological changes during pregnancy, a healthier child and better motherhood.
