Introduction: Snakes have been present on earth much longer than humans - they crawled on the earth and trees when dinosaurs walked the planet Earth. Today there are almost 4,000 known species of snakes, and some grow up to over ten meters. Today, snakes live on all continents except the Antarctic. Poisonous snakes in Croatia are viper, red snake, and yellow snake, which have venom exclusively due to prey hunting. Objective: The aim of this paper was to present the process of health care in patients after a snake bite. To show the most common problems in the field of health care and methods of nursing care in patients after the bite of a venomous snake. Discussion: In August 2021, a child N.N., 2013, is brought to the emergency room with a suspected venomous snake bite. According to the mother and the boy, the snake color is yellowgreen- white. The boy was bitten by a snake when he went to get a ball that flew into the tall grass in a park not far from the house where he lives. Due to the orderly laboratory tests of blood and urine, the boy was hospitalized, and was discharged home to rest and taking antibiotic therapy Klavocin bid for 5 days, with a note of control for two days. Nursing diagnoses derived from the presented case: high risk for infection, fear, high risk for complications, pain. Conclusion: Snake bites can be prevented in many cases. It is best to refrain from approaching or handling snakes in the wild. Avoid typical places where snakes like to hide, such as tall grass and piled leaves and piles of stones and wood. Education on snakes and snake venoms should be open to the public so that the population knows how to provide first aid and respond adequately to snake bites.
