The aim of this paper is to present the specific scope of work of bachelors of nursing in patients with seborrheic dermatitis, which is the most common problem in the field of health care. Seborrheic dermatitis is an increasingly common inflammatory recurrent skin disease of seborrheic areas such as the scalp, face, forehead and larger body folds. It is one of the chronic and very often unpleasant limited eczema, which is increasingly a significant problem both in the world and in Croatia. The main sign of the disease itself is the formation of yellowish scales in predisposing places. One can make the diagnosis on the basis of clinical pictures, physical examination and taking a tissue sample for microbiological processing. The treatment of the disease is long lasting and exhausting; it consists of the application of local pharmacological preparations on the skin, a change in lifestyle and diet where an increase in the intake of vitamins and essential acids is expected. An entire multidisciplinary team participates in the treatment of the disease in order to provide care to patients from all areas. Nursing care is individualized and patient-centered, and its tasks focuses on early detection and problem solving in the field of health care. Furthermore, it aims at providing psychological support to the patient in order to achieve higher levels of self-esteem, reduce anxiety and achieve personal satisfaction. Through her daily work, the nurse educates and advises the patient on the adoption of methods for better acceptance of new situations, to change certain life habits and acquire new ones that will prevent the development of further complications of the disease. The goal of health care is to prevent the possibility of deteriorating health by advising patients to maintain adequate self-care and regular medical check-ups, because only in this way do we achieve the appropriate level of quality of patients and their environment.
