Introduction: Vitamins are biocatalysts that have an important role in human organism. They are divided according to solubility in two basic types: fat-soluble vitamins and water-soluble vitamins. Overview: Every vitamin deficit has either harder or easier consequences on the oral cavity of the child. The deficit of a vitamin A and D is manifested as hypo plasticity on tooth enamel which has been shown to affect the incidence of caries and the development of periodontal disease. Ectodermal dysplasia results from anomalies. Vitamin E has been shown to be effective in the treatment of oral mucositis, while vitamin K participates in the process of normal blood clotting, so its concentration is important in the process of tooth extraction or periodontal surgery. In general, oral manifestations of vitamin B-complex are: enamel hypo mineralization, angular cheilitis, halitosis, gingivitis, glossitis, stomatitis and pallor. Particularly noteworthy is vitamin B1, which deficiency manifests itself as aphthous stomatitis in the oral cavity. The vitamin C plays an essential role in maintaining healthy bones in a child and deficiency manifests itself as petechiae and sensitivity of the gingiva in the oral cavity. Immune decline can lead to oral candidiasis in children with vitamin H deficiency. Conclusion: Vitamin deficiencies can be caused by improper diet and different eating styles like veganism and vegetarianism which excludes certain types of food from the diet. In the prevention of complications caused by vitamin deficiencies in the oral cavity in children, it is necessary to educate parents, as well as all those involved in the child upbringing.
